Science is taught as a subject and through cross-curricular topics.
The National Curriculum forms the framework for our science programme and children learn through a range of knowledge based and practical activities.
Science at Field Junior School is about investigating, and as such, we create opportunities to learn by ‘doing’ and observing science in action. Children are taught to carry out investigations, to make observations and record their findings in a way best suited to their ability and level of understanding.
A great emphasis is put on the development of scientific vocabulary and understanding and we strive to equip our children with the skills necessary to face the challenges of secondary school science.
