School Meals
At lunch time children can have either a school meal that is prepared each day in our school kitchen or bring a packed lunch from home.
School meals are provided in school by Hertfordshire Catering Limited. There is a daily choice of balanced nutritional meals including a hot, vegetarian and packed lunch options.
Children bringing packed lunches can purchase a Friday Fun Lunch if they wish. All lunch payments should be made in advance.
Information on the cost of meals can be obtained from Mrs Conroy in the school office.
Our school lunch menu can be adapted for children who have dietary requirements so please speak to the office staff who can advise on the online reporting system run by Hertfordshire Catering.
Free School Meals
On Universal Credit? Your Child Could Get Free School Meals
From September 2026, the eligibility criteria for Free School Meals (FSM) will be changing. From the start of the new school year, all parents/carers who are in receipt of Universal Credit will be eligible for Free School Meals, regardless of the amount received.
Applying takes around 5 minutes, and you will need your National Insurance number. Applications can be made using the following link: Free school meals and other benefits | Hertfordshire County Council
There is no requirement for pupils who are already receiving Free School Meals to re-apply
Even if your child does not currently take a school meal regularly, I would still encourage you to apply. Not only will your child have access to a hot, nutritious meal at lunchtime when they need it, but there is an additional benefit to the school as well. When families access Free School Meals, the school may receive additional funding to support our pupils further. This funding helps us to provide enhanced learning experiences and support for all children in our care.
